MPAA Lobbying for Home Theater Regulations To Screw US All

Technorati blog directory

I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of hearing how many millions the film and record companies are losing. In fact I could give a damn. These people have forgotten that we the public made them what there are today. We the public can just as easy vote with our hard earned cash to end this power and control game. Here is some of the latest BS the MPAA is pumping your way.

The MPAA is lobbying congress to push through a new bill that would make unauthorized home theaters illegal. The group feels that all theaters should be sanctioned, whether they be commercial settings or at home. ( Are we talking about pirate films here? No.)

The bill would require that any hardware manufactured in the future contain technology that tells the MPAA directly of what is being shown and specific details on the audience. The data would be gathered using various motion sensors and biometric technology. One simple comment to this idea - Piss Off

The MPAA defines a home theater as any home with a television larger than 29" with stereo sound and at least two comfortable chairs, couch, or futon. Anyone with a home theater would need to pay a $50 registration fee with the MPAA or face fines up to $500,000 per movie shown.

Just because you buy a DVD to watch at home doesn't give you the right to invite friends over to watch it too. ( Who the hell says so? DVD's are advertised by everyone and that includes WalMart to be watched with family and friends ) That's a violation of copyright and denies us the revenue that would be generated from DVD sales to your friends. ( Hmmmm, most business people who give a shit have the common sense to thank their customers. MPAA look like a bunch of cheap whores out to screw use again. Never satisfied, never happy that we the buying public did business with them. MPAA you are not entitled to access to my TV, my two chairs, my nice sofa or my fucking popcorn. As far as I am concerned you ass stays out of my house and you will consider your group lucky if and when I ever buy or rent a damn DVD. You only think you have big balls. using steriods just makes them small.

And for the record our house does not have a home theater. We have a TV. Last I checked the TV was not called a theater. Although who knows what your special effects people will come up with for the right amount of cash.
